One consistent pattern I see across higher performing job seekers:
"This is great, but how can we do better?"
Not
"This was bad, how can we fix it?"
For example:
- If they interview with a company and don't do well, they acknowledge what they did well before focusing on how to do better.
- If they're having issues using my product, they acknowledge what they like, before focusing on how to improve it.
The way you treat others will always affect how you treat yourself, so a selfish reason to focus on acknowledging the positives in others is so that you’ll do the same for yourself.
You’ll then make more progress, more quickly.
