Progress doesn't always feel like progress
One of the hardest parts of a job search is that progress doesn’t always feel like progress.
You can be doing all the right things.
Applying consistently.
Getting interviews.
Improving how you answer questions.
And still feel like nothing is working.
Because the outcome you want hasn’t happened yet.
No offer.
No final yes.
Just a series of “almost” moments.
But what many people don’t realize is that this phase is often where things start to shift.
You’re no longer figuring everything out from scratch.
You’ve seen the types of questions companies ask.
You’ve refined how you tell your story.
You’ve adjusted your answers based on real feedback.
You’re operating with more clarity than you had a few weeks ago.
That progress is real.
Even if it hasn’t converted yet.
Many offers come after this exact phase.
Not at the very beginning.
But after a few rounds of interviews where things start to click.
So if this week felt frustrating, don’t assume you’re stuck.
You may just be in the part of the process where things are about to turn.
Here’s one small thing to do today.
Write down one thing you do better in interviews now than you did two weeks ago.
Because improvement is often the clearest signal that you’re moving in the right direction.
