Read this if you can’t get past final round interviews
Can't get past final rounds?
Here's one reason why other candidates might be making it if you're not.
They write offer theses.
An offer thesis is a document that explains why you're a good fit for a role and how you're going to add value once you start working at the company.
It's like a 30/60/90 day plan.
Here's an example of one: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wmlA_QgAcWh56cuuDj2NLTxZrcEiyLR--U388mJBMiY/edit
You summarize:
1. What the company needs
2. Why you're a terrific fit for solving those needs
3. How exactly you're going to create value once you start working there
You might be thinking:
1. Isn't this weird?
Why would I do something so uncommon?
You're right.
It's weird and uncommon.
But uncommon practices are needed to make you stand out in this market.
2. I don't know enough about a company to do this.
You don't have perfect information, but make it clear that you don't have perfect information when you write it.
Say something like "I don't have all the right information to know exactly what your company needs, but thought I'd write this to demonstrate my desire to come up with solutions. I'm very open to your feedback"
3. Why would I repeat what I said during interviews?
For the same reason your partner / mother / friends etc. need to remind you to do things 100 times before you remember to do them.
People need reminders to store information.
