Should you run a job search during a recession if you're currently employed?
As someone who’s worked with hundreds of jobseekers, here’s my take:
1. Are you unhappy at your current company?
2. Have you tried staying at your current company but making changes so that you're happier?
For example: If you're unhappy with your compensation, have you tried communicating that to your boss in a kind, but honest way?
The answer should be yes to both questions before you try to land your next role.
Because in this market, there's no "half" attempts.
You need to be fully invested and sure you’re ready to jump to minimize the time it takes you to land your next role.
