Most job seekers?
Still turning their heads.
Sending out 100 resumes into the void.
Refreshing their inbox like it’s going to magically solve their problems.
Getting ghosted.
Then blaming the market.
Here’s what happens when you stop playing the numbers game and start being intentional.
I had a client who spent three months blasting out applications.
Not a single offer.
We ripped up that strategy, picked 15 companies he was actually excited about, and sent personal, targeted emails.
Three weeks later, he was juggling five interviews.
Why?
Because he stopped acting like just another applicant and started acting like someone who could solve real problems.
Try this for one week
Instead of sending out 25 more resumes today, do this:
Pick five companies you’d genuinely love to work for.
Dig into what they care about right now. What’s changing in their business? What problems are they probably trying to solve?
Find one person at each company you’d ideally work with. Not HR. Someone on the team.
Send them a short, thoughtful note. Show you get what they’re up against. Share why your background is relevant. Start a real conversation.
That’s it.
Stop chasing strangers.
Invest in relationships that actually lead somewhere.
When you’re done, come back and tell me how many people you reached out to.
I want to see who’s actually taking action.
Great common sense advice.
