What job should you target?
Your goal is to get
1. The best possible job offer
2. As quickly as possible
In order to do that you want to pick the best possible role to target.
Here's what constraints to maximize:
A) The role creates a lot of value for employers: This is because the more business value the role drives for the company the higher your employer will be willing to pay you and the quicker you'll be advanced through the process.
B) You’re good at that role: This means you are likely to be able to deliver on the results needed to deliver on the value of that role. This is because the higher the likelihood you can create value in the role, the more your employer will be willing to pay you and the faster they'll advance you through their process.
C) The role has high labor demand: This is because the more labor demand, the more companies your employer has to compete with and the more jobs you can apply to each week.
D) The role has low labor supply: This is because the less average applicants for your target role, the more negotiating power you'll have cause your employer will have less leverage and the quicker they'll wanna push you through the process so they don't lose you.
E) Employers hiring for the role have a high budget allocated to the role: This is because the fatter the pockets the more likely they can pay you more and the more resources the company has to advance you through their process quickly.
